Cruella, Punk, and the Politics of Branding is a video essay analysing how Cruella (2021) adopts the visual language of punk rebellion while ultimately reinforcing a narrative of individual capitalist success. Drawing on theorists such as Hebdige, McRobbie & Garber, Gill, Negra, and Banet‑Weiser, the essay argues that Cruella functions as a “punk imposter,” using rebellion as performance rather than politics. The project combines academic research with visual storytelling and was edited using Adobe Premiere Pro with additional motion design and typography created in Adobe After Effects. It demonstrates my ability to integrate theory, film analysis, and polished post‑production into a cohesive critical argument.
